Trainers,
If you’ve been anywhere near the Pokemon GO Blog or Twitter, you probably have had a headstart to this information. However, Pokemon GO is bringing the first ever championship series to the app in 2022! As a POGO Trainer, you’ll have the chance to earn an invite to the 2022 Pokemon World Championships by battling against the best in the game.
For this first year, PokeMon Go will be featured at select Pokemon Events, such as the Regional and International Pokemon Championships. Top POGO players in these events will get invited to the 2022 WORLD Championships.
Get playing! Those who achieve legend rank in the current Pokemon Go Battle League Season (Season 9) will be able to register during a short early-registration window, which will take place in the early part of 2022. Once this window is complete, Trainers of any rank can register for what little spots might remain. If you haven’t competed in the current season yet, you have until November 29, 2021 to compete in the current GBL season.
NOTE: You need to link your Pokemon Go account to your Pokemon Trainer Club Account and have a Play! Pokemon Player ID to be able to register.
The Pokemon Go Live post also references that these events may be subject to change due to COVID restrictions.
